When you love a costume as much as my boy does, Halloween is pretty much the pinnacle of your year. Every year we start talking about costumes at the beginning of September – we have to evaluate options, look around online, and accommodate shifting obsessions. In early September it seemed like we would be going with Captain Rex (a Clone Trooper… yeah, I don’t know either), but by the first week in October B had changed his mind.
I arrived home from work yesterday to find this picture hanging on the inside of our front door, about 18 inches from the ground:

Horsey and Ellie have been feeling the cold. Last week I crocheted Ellie’s scarf. Tonight, I spent three hours making a hat for Horsey. My Grandma would be proud.

Last night, I spent two hours up to my elbows in pumpkin guts. I even made up a little song to accompany the gourd lobotomies:
I came home from work yesterday to find that B had used an entire box of BandAids on his stuffed animals – Ellie and several of the Bears had had unfortunate accidents (mostly run-ins with the pointy parts of the coffee table.)
