In 2002, I moved from the Deep South (where we eat grits with butter and say ‘yes

The winters here are cold and gray, and the culture is very different from what I grew up with.  I like it here – I married a Yankee (folks back home are still scandalized!) and we have a little boy.  This means I’m here to stay, so every day I try to strike a balance between my southern roots and my northern branches.

This blog started out as a way to share photos and news with our extended families, so they could watch their grandchild/nephew grow up.  It’s become a place where I write about not only my family, but also trashy romance novels, the gloomy weather, the occasional political screed, and anything else that piques my fancy.
