On Martin Luther King day, we went ice skating at the ancient Penn Ice Rink. Mr and I really enjoyed it – I was astonished, and impressed, to find out that my husband can skate! Pretty well! Accomplishment is very attractive.
Even I did 3-4 laps around the rink – after the first lap, I even let go of the wall and skated on my own! This was a HUGE deal for me, as I fear/despise athletic pursuits because my lack of coordination frequently undermines and humiliates me.
B, however, was not feeling the ice skating At All. In retrospect, I think that I didn’t dress him warmly enough – he would have been fine if he’d been moving around, but he was too scared to skate, and because he wasn’t moving, he was cold and miserable.
