>Christmas Crash

There’s always a pretty substantial let down after Christmas day. The presents have been opened the poinsettias are starting to wilt, and all of a sudden I’m counting the days until the next holiday.

I’ve always loved this holiday, but I do feel like it’s a time of enhanced expectations where everyone is doomed to some level of disappointment – even, and especially, our little boy who is going to be soooo confused next week when he has to go back to school, and doesn’t get a new toy (or truckload full of toys) every day.

Still, it’s been one of the better family Christmases I remember. My best friend is here with us (circumstances not withstanding), Grandad is visiting, and my brother and his lovely girlfriend came down from NYC for several days.
